Technology - Flakes
To produce various types of flakes, the corn (e.g. maize grits) is cooked according to individual recipes. The cooked grits are then rolled, toasted and – if required – coated (e.g. with sugar syrup). In our modern packing hall the finished flakes are packed into printed bags or skillets and prepared for transport.
For most of our flake recipes we use sugar, malt and salt. The flakes can be coated with glucose, honey, cane sugar or granulated refined sugar.
